I find that, for me, most podcast hosts[^merlin] just talk too slow, so I set up a QuickTime Player shortcut in Keyboard Maestro to speed it up.

Something I love about listening to podcasts on iPhone is easily skipping forward or back 30 seconds. Again KM comes to the rescue:
